Although art and creative activities have always been a part of my life, it was years before I felt ready to dedicate myself to painting and call myself an artist. Since then I have tried to make up for lost time.

I began to paint seriously when I moved to central New Jersey 20 years ago. Coming from a more urban environment, I responded strongly to the beauty in this part of New Jersey. This has made me appreciate the beauty of nature everywhere I travel. Landscapes are a favorite subject.

I work in oils and pastels because they allow for great intensity of color. In general, my work is representational. My aim is to create paintings that not only entertain the eye but that also make an emotional connection with the viewer.

Over the past 20 years I have been fortunate to study with and learn from talented and generous artists locally and at workshops across the country.
